Day 8: Hasta Luego

Today, we visited the early learning centre one last time in the morning, saying our goodbyes to the kids. We continue to see love pouring out in the schools and the community. We are extremely grateful for the people who have supported us on this trip, including our translators, drivers, cooks, and cleaners, as well as teachers and admin in the schools and other people in the T.E.A.R.S. organization! As we sit in the Santiago airport, awaiting our flight, we decided to write a quick poem to reflect our thoughts:

Warm hearts

Warm minds

Friends forever

Lives intertwined

We’ll never forget

We’ll always remember

We know we’ll return—

Wether it’s soon or some distant September

The memories we made

The laughs we shared

The way we feel

Shows how we cared

A place like this shows

How little we lack

Now that we’re done

We can’t wait to go back
