Day 2 : Love One Another

Today, we started our day at the primary school, where we had the chance to lead three sessions about loving one another. Despite the apparent poverty, we were overwhelmed by the sense of community we experienced as we entered the primary and high schools. The kids and adults were incredibly welcoming to us and supportive of each other in class times, sports, and other activities. We got to participate in an English class at the high school, and then build relationships through bracelet making and volleyball (Luke and Joudy are getting quite good)!

The people of the Dominican Republic have already impacted us in such a positive way. We are excited to continue to build relationships and learn from the community around us. We hope to be a beacon of God’s love in a community that is thriving, but still has so much less than we are used to in Canada.
